Privacy Policy

Community Change values your privacy, and our privacy policy reflects our strong commitment to respecting any information you choose to share with us.  Information that you may choose to give us includes your name, address, email address, phone number, credit card information, and other information about your interests and preferences.  We may obtain information from outside sources and add it to or combine it with the information we collect through this site.

We use this information to operate this site, to send you news and information about the Center for Community Change and the issues that we work on, to acknowledge those who provide support for the Center for Community Change, and for other purposes in support of our mission.  We work closely with allied and like-minded organizations, including our sister organization the Community Change Action. To further the mission of the Center for Community Change, we may make information we collect available to these allied and like-minded organizations as well as other third parties, unless you have requested that we do not.  You may request that your information not be shared outside the Community Change family or not shared at all by sending a message to [email protected].

Notwithstanding any such request, however, we reserve the right to reveal your identity (or any information we know about you) if we have a good faith belief that access, use, preservation, or disclosure of such information is reasonably necessary to (a) satisfy any applicable law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request, (b) enforce applicable Terms of Use, including investigation of potential violations thereof, (c) detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security, or technical issues, or (d) protect against imminent harm to the rights, property, or safety of the Center for Community Change, its users or the public as required or permitted by law.

User-Provided Material

You promise that all information and other material you provide to this site is, to the best of your knowledge, true and correct.

You agree that you will not post or submit:

  • falsehoods or misrepresentations that could damage the Center for Community Change or any third party;
  • material that is unlawful, obscene, defamatory, libelous, threatening, pornographic, harassing, hateful, a personal attack, or encourages conduct that would be considered a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability, violate any law, or is otherwise inappropriate;
  • material that supports or opposes any candidate for public office or that might otherwise constitute intervention in a campaign for public office under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code;
  • material that is copyrighted, protected by trade secret, or otherwise subject to third party proprietary rights, including privacy and publicity rights, unless you are the owner of such rights or have permission from their rightful owner to post the material and to grant the Center for Community Change all of the rights granted in these Terms of Use; or
  • advertisements or solicitations of business.

You agree to comply with all local rules regarding online conduct and acceptable content, including all applicable laws regarding the transmission of technical data exported from the United States or the country in which you reside.

Users who post materials in violation of this policy may be prohibited from posting material.

You remain solely responsible for the content of the material you post, and you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Center for Community Change and its agents with respect to any claim based upon transmission of the material you post.

Reporting Violations

Anyone who believes that material has been posted to this site in violation of these policies, including any owner of a copyrighted work who believes, in good faith, that the work has been reproduced on our site without authorization in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, is encouraged to report the violation, preferably with information supporting the claim:

Except as Community Change explicitly indicates, all material on this site is copyrighted by Community Change as the sole and exclusive owner of all material on this site.
