Washington – Health Care for America NOW!, the nation’s largest health care campaign, today released an eyebrow-raising video exposing Rick Scott’s suspect past as CEO of Columbia/Hospital Corporation of America. The video explains how the man leading the charge to stop the health care reform our country needs is the former head of a corporation that was forced to pay $1.7 billion for over-billing Medicare, kickbacks and falsified procedures. The company that made Scott a millionaire defrauded the government and the American people for profit.
“Now Rick Scott’s trying to block health care reform,” the ad’s narrator says, “because he and his insurance company friends make millions from the broken system we have now. So before you listen to Rick Scott, look at his record.”
America needs reform that includes a public plan to make health care accessible and affordable for all. We can’t let profiteers like Scott stop the change Americans need and deserve.
