Grassroots Community Energized by White House Commitment to Immigration Reform This Year
Week in Community Values for April 10, 2009
Born out of a mass rejection of the failed policies of
individualism and divisiveness, the Campaign for Community Values is a return to the beliefs
our country was founded on: shared responsibility, shared sacrifice and shared
success.
Take a look at the great work our partners across the country have done
since we last updated you:

What every immigration reporter should
know
Washington-Grassroots community
organizations are energized by yesterday's
public statement from the White House committing to begin the immigration reform debate this year. Organizations across the country are ramping
up to ensure the ground swell of support for passing just and humane immigration
legislation is felt in Washington
once the debate begins.
“We are pleased by President’s Obama’s announcement committing to moving
immigration reform this year. We know
that America’s
economy cannot recover if we allow 12 million immigrants to continue to live and
work in the margins of our society,” said Marissa Graciosa, coordinator of the
Fair immigration Reform Movement.
