Hundreds of Grassroots Leaders to Gather for Historic Town Hall Meeting to Discuss Passing Just and Humane Immigration Reform This Year

WASHINGTON – The Reform Immigration For America Campaign will convene a town hall meeting June 3, 2009, bringing together some of the key players who will drive the legislation.

The town hall meeting is being organized by the Reform Immigration For America Campaign, an effort that will launch June 2. The campaign is endorsed by more than 200 leading civil rights, immigrant rights, religious and labor organizations. The campaign will advocate for reform that offers a path to earned citizenship, protects workers, enhances our nation’s security, promotes immigrant integration and keeps families together.

It will be a busy week for the campaign. Aside from the official launch and town hall, the campaign will also sponsor the largest convening of immigration advocates and allies at its Summit from June 3-5, and hold a lobby day June 3. More than 600 people have already registered to participate in the Summit.

“America needs to reform immigration for America – all of America,” said Rich Stolz, campaign manager, Reform Immigration for America Campaign.  “For businesses, for workers, for families, for the economy and for security, we need workable solutions that solve our immigration problems and move us all forward together.”
