Community Groups Address Economic Crisis and Stage Summit to Influence Immigration Reform Debate
Week in Community Values for May 14, 2009
Born out of a mass rejection of the failed policies of
individualism and divisiveness, the Campaign for Community Values
is a return to the beliefs our country was founded on: shared responsibility,
shared sacrifice and shared success.
Take a look at the great work our partners across the country have done since we last updated you:
Women's
Round Table to Address Solutions to Economic Crisis
Lewiston, ME– Today, the Maine People's Alliance
and the Western Maine Labor Council will host a round table discussion on the

rebuilding the economy.
The panel will be moderated
by Lewiston Mayor Larry Gilbert, and will feature five local working women and
religious leaders. The women will discuss the labor movement's role in
assisting women in securing better benefits and wages, and the potential of the
Employee Free Choice Act to repair the foundation of an economy that works for
everyone.
The event begins at 1 p.m. EST at the Museum L/A conference room, 35
Canal St. in Lewiston.
