Presidential Candidates to Address Real Questions from Real People

DES MOINES, IOWA – On Saturday, December 1, 2007 at the Heartland Presidential Forum, Sen. Hillary Clinton, Sen. Christopher Dodd, Sen. John Edwards, Congressman Dennis Kucinich and Sen. Barack Obama will address our community values, telling 5,000 real people what they will do to offer bold solutions for getting America back to where we are at our best.

To take part in this historic event, you can:

  • Watch the forum live on television. C-SPAN 1 will cover the entire event from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm EST.
  • Listen to the candidates’ responses when they each take their turn onstage to hear personal stories and questions from real people. From 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm EST, tune in live to XM Radio 169 The Power or Radio One talk stations in the following markets: WOL-AM 1450 in Washington, DC and WCHB-AM 1200 in Detroit.

The Heartland Presidential Forum is sponsored by the Center for Community Change, Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement and more than a dozen other community groups. Cathy Hughes, founder and chairwoman of Radio One, the largest African-American owned broadcast network, will moderate the event, asking the candidates how they will point our country in a new political direction that improves the lives of all people and serves the common good.

Grassroots leaders will talk to candidates about healthcare, housing, jobs, clean elections, factory farms and immigration. The forum is the launch of a major national Campaign for Community Values, that will boldly defy the ‘on your own mentality’ that is failing America and challenge the status quo. Alone we can do so little, but together we can do so much. Tune in to the Heartland Presidential Forum to see the true values of America put on the national stage.  For more information: www.iowaheartlandforum.org.
