For more information, contact: Germonique Jones 202-494-9876 For Immediate Release: Saturday, December 1, 2007 Moments ago, at the Heartland Presidential Forum: Community Values in Action, in Des Moines, Iowa, Senator John Edwards told a hall of thousands of Iowa Caucus goers that he was committed to upholding Community Values. Edwards said that powerful interests have "taken over our government," and have "built a wall" around the country. Edwards pledged to "tear down that wall." Edwards made his comments at the forum, organized by the Campaign for Community Values, a coalition of national and grassroots organizations from Iowa, the Midwest, and around the country. "We are pleased to hear Senator Edwards embrace Community Values," said the Campaign's organizers. "But action speaks louder than words. Community Values voters in Iowa and around the country will be listening to what these candidates say they will do to bring us together as a nation. And we will vote our values." ### |
