CCC's Southern Team in Action
|
"HKonJ is clearly the sort of grass roots activism going on all over the US. Seeking to increase the capacity and compliment the HKonJ coalition led by the NAACP, CCC regional staff is building a diverse coalition of groups to address state and local issues called the "NC-We Are better Together Coalition".
This year, the HK on J rally was attended by ten thousand people. We wanted to move quickly to identify the top issues and capacity of the groups present at the rally, so, with the help of our NC partner--NC Blue Print--we conducted an issue survey. In the coming year, we will invited key leaders to trainings designed to address the top issues identified by the survey. Initially, training will include the Campaign for Community Values communications training and the Beyond Borders curriculum training."
