The GenChange Fellowship


·  50 Interns will be placed in organizations in 7 states and the District of Columbia >>

 

·  20 Fellows will be placed in organizations in 15 states >>

·   Internships last for 10 weeks starting with training in Nashville, TN on Monday, June 2nd  through Friday, June 6th, 2008.


·  Fellowships last for 27 weeks starting with an Introduction to Organizing and Electoral Work in Nashville, TN on Monday, June 2nd through Sunday, June 8th, 2008.

·  Placements are with effective community organizations in low income communities.  Interns will be exposed to various organizing campaigns, styles and strategies while conducting substantive work and providing support to the host organization.


·  Fellows are placed directly in the field with effective community organizations that participate in the Center for Community Change's Community Voting Project. >>  Fellows will be trained in both community organizing and non-partisan electoral skills.

·  Interns earn $400 per week. 


·  Fellows earn $500 per week. 

·  Housing and additional benefits are not provided.


·  Health care is included.  Housing is not provided.

·  Travel, lodging and food costs to attend both the Nashville, TN training in June and the Washington, DC training in August are provided.


·   Travel, lodging and food costs to attend the Nashville, TN training in June and the three electoral trainings/convenings throughout the duration of the fellowship program are provided.

·  A car will most likely be necessary depending upon placement.

 
·  A car will be necessary for work.

 

 


Interns will be placed with host organizations in the following states in 2008: Colorado, Maryland, New York, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Washington, and the District of Columbia.

Fellows will be placed with host organizations in the following states in 2008: Arizona, California, Colorado, Maine, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, New Jersey, North Carolina, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Tennessee, Virginia, and Washington.
