Generation Change Training

Above:  Training for the Generation Change Class of 2007 was held at 
the Scarritt Bennett Center in Nashville, TN on June 3-6, 2007.

The kick-off to the Generation Change internship program is a mandatory training held in Tennessee.  Generation Change interns spent four intensive days participating in a hands-on training learning the concepts of community organizing, power analysis, self interest, public vs. private relationships, relational organizing, issue campaigns, and leadership development. 

Trainers included Gerald Taylor (Industrial Areas Foundation), Ana Garcia Ashley (Gamaliel Foundation), and Gabe Pendas (US Student Association). Click here to read their biographies.

2007 Generation Change interns received additional training over the course of their internship by attending regional Summer Learning Sessions.  The 2008 Generation Change Summer Learning Sessions are still being finalized and will be posted in May 2008.
