"I attended a Midwest Academy training, paid in large part through this mentoring program. I was encouraged by my mentor and by the experience of being in this program – this was a wonderful experience and I learned a great deal that I'm using on a day-to-day basis." -2006-07 Generation Change Mentee

We believe it is important to provide on-going training and support to the men and women who have dedicated themselves to improving the lives of others. Generation Change has piloted a number of programs to advance leadership, commitment, and networking among current staff who show great promise as future leaders of community-based organizations and social justice movements.

We will build on these pilots in the future, and provide advanced leadership training and mentoring opportunities.  Additionally, we will promote training programs of community and youth leadership organizations.  Many of these programs are profiled in our Gen Change Leadership Directory.  To list your program, please contact Sara Fatell at sfatell@communitychange.org.

All graduates of our advanced leadership programs will join Gen Change interns and fellows in the Alumni Association.

For more information on upcoming training opportunities, please contact Susan Chinn at schinn@communitychange.org.

"I was pretty sure even before I met [my mentor] that organizing was my passion. But with the investment that she and Gen Change put into me… to know that I will have opportunities to learn and grow inside organizing is encouraging and keeps me motivated to do the work." -2006-07 Generation Change Mentee
