Position Description:
The Administrative Associate will assist the Immigration Team in advancing the principles, base building and legislative objectives of the Fair Immigration Reform Movement (FIRM), a project of the Center for Community Change. The Program Associate will provide administrative support and coordination to the Immigration Team, which is part of the Organizing Unit. The position reports programmatically to the Immigration Team Leader, but will be supervised administratively by the Organizing Unit Operations Manager.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the day-to-day administration for the Immigration Team.
- Provide administrative support including filing, copying, faxing, mailing and typing.
- Coordinate conferences and public events for FIRM, which includes travel and lodging arrangements.
- Schedule meetings and logistics for FIRM; staff meetings, prepare materials and arrange conference calls.
- Manage database for FIRM and Immigration Team.
- Act as main contact to public for FIRM.
- Act as liaison for the Immigration Team to other departments of the Center, particularly Finance and Operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Team Leaders.
Qualifications:
- Ability to perform detail oriented work with accuracy/timeliness.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and problem-solve.
- Highly organized and dependable.
- Knowledge of a variety of office equipment.
- Ability to record notes and transcribe into a legible document for distribution.
- Strong computer skills. Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office; Word, Excel and Power Point.
- Experience with financial paperwork and systems.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- At least 3 years experience in meeting and event planning.
- Commitment to social change through community organizing.
- Fluency in language(s) other than English preferred.
This position reports to: Immigration Team Leader and the Organizing Unit Operations Manager
