Position Description:
The Database Assistant will be in charge of updating our comprehensive organizational database which we use to track the contact information, status, and characteristics of each organization whom we have a relationship with. The database is currently in Access format, but we are in the process of creating a new online database structure, and the Assistant may occasionally be asked to conduct minor tasks associated with this process. This is a temporary position.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Work with supervisor to create a questionnaire that can be used as a basis for obtaining information about each partner organization.
- Contact our partner organizations via phone and email in order to obtain updated information, by utilizing the aforementioned questionnaire.
- Work with members of the Center's Organizing Unit to update our list of organizations with all current partners, and remove organizations that are no longer relevant or operational.
Qualifications:
The applicant must have experience working with database software, preferably Microsoft Access. The ability to interview individuals in order to obtain information in a concise and efficient manner is a plus. Preference will be given to applicants who have experience or strong interest in the field of community organizing.
