Every day, people come together to solve shared problems. In the Philipinnes, the entire village pitches in to move a neighbor's home. This is called bayanihan or community (pictured left).
Likewise, community-based organizations unite the people most affected by social and economic injustice to hold politicians accountable, create solutions, and accomplish, together, what they are unable to accomplish alone.
In this spirit, the Center for Community Change and hundreds of grassroots groups launched the Campaign for Community Values in 2006.
The Campaign for Community Values offers more than policy solutions. It offers a vision of hope for America rooted in the understanding that we are stronger when each of has a voice, radically different from the "go it alone," me mentality that dominates America today.
This is not a Washington-based campaign--it is owned, shaped, and directedby the Center for Community Change and community groups across the nation.
