AMERICA IS A NATION OF COMMUNITIES…
Through families, congregations, neighborhoods, friends, what defines America is how we come together as one. In healthy communities, we feel safe, valued, welcome, happy. What makes a community vibrant also makes a vibrant nation.
WE CALL THIS COMMUNITY VALUES — our essential belief that we are all connected to each other and interdependent, that the American community includes everyone and leaves no one behind, that we care for each other and believe in shared responsibility and shared sacrifice, that we know everyone has inherent value and worth in the American story.
COMMUNITY VALUES HAVE BEEN UNDER ATTACK. The gap between the super-rich and everyone else has grown. Racism and discrimination persist. Government is run by special interests.
BUT WE’RE RESPONDING — WITH A NATIONAL MOVEMENT of Community Values voters and citizen activists demanding change at the ballot box in 2008 and policy change in Congress in 2009.
THE CAMPAIGN FOR COMMUNITY VALUES is a national coalition of over 300 grassroots community organizations that is changing public policy to make America work for everyone.
